EVENTS AND PROGRAMS:



The motivation behind the MV Endangered Art series is to create artistic imagery that accurately and positively represents a misunderstood generation of Black males. Marvin Vines believed that the youth themselves are not the problem; rather, it is society's perception of them that needs to change. Misleading messaging, propaganda, and inappropriate imagery can perpetuate oppression and hinder this generation of young leaders. This is why the "Endangered: The Choice Is Yours" collection is so important for both the world and our youth.

SOUL FOOD & VINYL:


Join us every month for an exciting event focused on uniting generations and promoting cultural awareness! "Soul Food and Vinyl" (SFV) is returning after 5 years and will feature delicious home-cooked soul food, live performances, karaoke, vintage vinyl music, and much more.

Enjoy the sounds of local guest DJs as they spin your favorite old-school and new-school records. In addition to great food and music, there will be a silent art auction and live painting. This fun-filled evening aims to foster community spirit and goodwill.

High on Parsons is an open-air patio event rental space located in the heart of downtown Columbus, situated within the historic community of OTE. The MV Art Gallery is just a few yards away from Upper Cup Fresh Roasted Coffee and Hangover Easy. Come check us out; you will love the vibrant energy brought by the featured musical artist. The Art Of Jazz:


Where can you immerse yourself in the soothing sounds of late-night smooth jazz, enjoy innovative culinary creations, and watch visual and performing artists bring their crafts to life in harmony with the music?

Welcome to "The Art of Jazz," an event that brings together fine art, jazz, and spoken word, all complemented by delicious food offerings. Our mission is to bridge the generational gap between music, art, and culture through positive self-expression. This monthly event takes place at the MV Gallery or various pop-up spaces in the 614 area.

  I remember when my brother died 10 years ago; his death brought tears to my soul. I was engaged in my normal busy schedule and heard an unearthly voice that said “call home”. I stopped immediately what I was doing, picked up the phone, and called my mom. My nephew picked up the phone and said they found Uncle Marvin at his home unconscious and rushed him to the hospital. I knew the end was coming; he had been diagnosed six months ago with terminal lung cancer and fought a valiant battle to survive with dignity. He knew he would lose the battle, but he wanted to die a warrior. With honour and dignity, he didn't want to stretch out his impending death by having someone take care of him. He chose to die in control and the comfort of his home. I hung up the phone, composed myself and jumped in my car to make the two-hour ride to Toledo. God is great!
