My Reflection
Open edition Lithograph 18x24
The MarVines Art Gallery is part of a nonprofit organization established in 1997 in memory of the late Artist Marvin Vines, known in the art world as MarVines, who combined two disciplines, art and education, to convey the plight of African Americans.

MarVines’mentors recognized his artistic talents very early in life. He enrolled in art classes at the Toledo Museum of Art as a child. He continued to refine his natural talent by graduating with a master’s degree in art education. MarVines’ background as a draftsman enabled him to illustrate the essence of his subjects with precision and remarkable clarity. His mastery of multiple media, including acrylics, collages, colour transparencies, pen and ink drawings, leathering and sculpturing, is evidenced by an inventory of several hundred candid and exceptional works of art.

The gallery fosters the creative development of artists in need who desire to showcase their talents in the visual arts. We work to enhance the quality of the Central Ohio community by exhibiting art, supporting local artists, and creating diverse opportunities through art
education, entrepreneurship and art appreciation.

The gallery supports artists working in all media and disciplines.

OUR GOALS:
  • Create opportunities where none exist while elevating community awareness of the aesthetic and historical contribution of African American artists.
  •  Make gallery and state-of-the-art studio facilities available to central Ohio's residents and artistic community.

Estate Certification

Estate signed: Artwork produced with the approval of the estate of a deceased artist and signed with a facsimile of the artist's signature.

Giclee Print: The term "Giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high-resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates, including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better colour accuracy than other means of reproduction.

Sadly, Marvin Vines passed away before many of his originals and limited editions were signed. His limited edition reproductions that were unsigned upon his death now have an estate-approved and authorized signature placed upon them. In addition, the estate-signed pieces will come with an official Certificate of Authenticity, complete with an estate seal. The remaining pieces from the editions previously released are all part of the original edition and are giclee reprints, lithographs and serigraphs.

His originals will also come accompanied by an official certificate from the estate. This certificate will state in detail the original artwork from Marvin Vines's estate.

If you have a MarVines original and would like to get it estate certified, please contact Soul on Canvas Publications Attention: Anthony Vines 704-312-0452 or by email;souloncanvasart@gmail.com
